Pilot Employment Information

SBA Flies 4 aircraft through 2007, 5th aircraft to come on line
by year end 2008!

HR Form

Seaborne Airlines (SBA) currently flies 4 de Havilland DHC-6-300 Twin Otters on Wipline 13000 floats. With a combination of three planes flying everyday and the fourth aircraft on select high traffic days, SBA pilots were averaging 400 passengers per day. A huge accomplishment considering a year ago we would see numbers in the mid 200s to low 300s. As the passenger count increased so did the pilot ranks. SBA currently has 18 line pilots and is planning to hold at least two pilot classes in the year 2008, see qualifications below. Although we were increasing traffic and pilots, we were still loosing pilots in a less than desired time frame.

SBAs management dedicated itself towards being competitive with its benefits. SBA pilots receive full medical and dental, 401k, an eight year longevity pay scale for captains and a four year longevity pay scale for First Officers. Two weeks paid vacation at the completion of one year on property. Receive per diem and lodging while in training. There is also a profit share program called Seaborne Nuggets where participants receive a set number of Nuggets per year and can track the price over the year according to SBA’s financial performance. Payout can be generous – depending upon results achieved. Additional benefits include five days in Flight Safety’s DHC-6 simulator in Toronto Canada. Jump seat privileges with airlines such as Delta, American Airlines, American Eagle, American Connection, Delta Connection, USAir, Cape Air, Liat, to name just a few. SBA pilots are not required to move to the islands but are expected to start flying assignments from an assigned crew base. Crew bases include St. Croix and St. Thomas.
Our Fleet

Seaborne Airlines is authorized to conduct Domestic, Flag and Supplemental operations. SBAs main market is servicing the USVI and Old San Juan. But, since June 2007, we have been serving the island of Virgin Gorda in the BVIs. And, Seaplane flying at Seaborne compares to no other as we bring islands closer together twenty-four minutes at a time. With a flight departing approximately every 15 minutes our operation is definitely high tempo and demands high levels of safety and professionalism.

So, if you are a pilot that is still looking for some adventure, fun and a change of pace, Seaborne Airlines encourages you to look into our requirements of eligibility for hire.
